Yesterday was spent on a one day workshop in Bristol. What a great day! The "Improve Your Online Presence" workshop was run by Leora, The Webmistress, who is a massage practitioner AND web designer and runs workshops to help other therapists who have their own business or are newly qualified.
The workshop was held at the Bristol College of Massage and Bodywork, a beautiful building situated in the heart of Clifton. It was lovely to meet fellow practitioners and discover their journey and over a welcome drink we took turns to find out more about each other before the course started.
The day covered the following items and I learnt a lot of things to help improve my own website too.
Main topics
You and what you offer
Target market/Client group
Must haves and technical aspects of a successful website
How to get people to your website
Technical demos (see sub topics)
Other sumptuous marketing ideas you could put into action
Sub topics
Where, besides your website, could you appear on the internet
Mobile friendly websites
How to present your content
Reciprocal linking
Blogging: Why and how to demo
Social Media: Why and how to demo
Search Engine Optimisation: Why and how how to demo
Demo of a time saving tool that help you access all social media in once place.
…And much much more
I thoroughly enjoyed the course, there is always an opportunity to improve oneself and Leora made the workshop fun and enjoyable. If you are a therapist, whether newly qualified or just needing to refresh your ideas then I highly recommend doing one of Leora's workshops or working on a one to one basis if you need help and ideas co-creating a website.
The next course is The Essential Beginners Guide To Marketing Your Practice in Worcester on Friday 11 December.
